Promises are not meant to be broken,but not for this case. Charlie promises his brother that they will play baseball together until the day he leaves for college. However tragedy strikes when they met with an accident that killed his brother. Charlie have to face the fact that his brother is no longer living in the real world. Sooner or later he have to right? "LIVE. LOVE. LET GO"

So in reality he met this girl that he really likes,it's better for him to take a chance with this girl who is real then his brother. It's good for him to move on then to be stuck in the past which is making him forgetting the reality he's living in. He should go for the girl and be thankful that he still living and can make choices of his own, like the quote of this movie says, "LIFE IS FOR LIVING".

He has been given a second chance to live, & he shouldn't live on his past but to take a chance to have a new life of his own where he can live his life to the fullest. He also can't make another mistake of letting someone he likes/love walked out of his life,again. He have to take this chance to have what he deserve to have,A LIFE.
